If you have just completed your Open water Course or you have been diving for a while and have a number of dives already, you will benefit from the PADI Advanced Open water Course.
This course introduces you to five (5) different and exciting types of diving.
Any special interest you have is catered for, computer diving is Multilevel, photography is Underwater Digital Photography, naming the fish or coral is Underwater Naturalist, making movies is Underwater Videographer and so on.
The PADI Advanced Open water Course is made up of five (5) different dives, Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventures Dives are required, and then you choose any three (3) Adventure Dives that interest you from a list of 16 Adventure Dives.
This really makes your PADI Advanced Open water Course specific to you.

Who can become a PADI Advanced Open water Diver
PADI Junior Advanced Open water Diver – 12-14 years old – Certified Adult supervision
PADI Advanced Open water Diver – 15 years up
What you need
Medical from a Doctor stating you “are fit to dive” if we don’t already have one on record
Mask, Fins and Snorkel
Exposure suit appropriate for the local environment
Weight belt
Regulator with SPG (Submersible Pressure Gauge)
Alternate Air Source suitable for sharing air
BCD with low pressure inflator Complete instrumentation, including a means to monitor depth, time and direction
Instructions for use for dive computer or RDP/eRDPML
Diving tool/knife capable of cutting line
Slate and pencil
Whistle and surface signalling device
Dive Bag
Log Book

International Travellers and Busy People
Referrals
If you have completed part of your PADI Advanced Open water Diver in another location, Australia or any other part of the world, bring your referral paperwork/log book and complete the rest of your course here to receive your PADI Advanced Open water Certification Card and PADI Advanced Open water Certificate of Recognition.
E Learning
Complete your study, including the quizzes and knowledge reviews in another location; Australia or any other part of the world, then, come to Whitsunday Diving Academy for the pool sessions and complete the five (5) Open water dives. An excellent option if you are planning a holiday here and would like to be certified as a PADI Advanced Open water Diver while you are here.
On a Tight Budget ?
Complete your PADI Advanced Open water Diver Course on a dive by dive schedule, you could complete one dive a week for five (5) weeks, or one dive a month for five (5) months depending on your budget. For details on this option please speak to the Whitsunday Diving Academy team.
Questions and Schedule
For the classroom and pool session you will need to bring your “knowledge review” completed for each of the modules (example – Deep and Underwater Navigation, plus your 3 chosen Adventure Dives), swimmers, towel and personal equipment if you have it (mask, fins and snorkel)
For the Open water Dives you will need swimmers, towel, hat, sun block and personal equipment if you have it (mask, fins and snorkel)
